Your Child Isn’t Just “Ages 3-12.” They’re 3, 6, Or 11.

Childhood changes quickly. A preschooler learning to join a group does not need the same pace, expectations, or challenge as an eleven-year-old working toward a real skill. That is why we built three separate beginner programs.

This is not one giant class with preschoolers and middle-schoolers mixed together. Your child trains in the program designed for where they are right now.

Tiny Ninjas

A comfortable first step.

Short activities, clear directions, movement, encouragement, and small wins for children still learning how to join in and participate independently.

An active, structured program for kids learning to listen, manage frustration, control their movement, and believe in themselves.

Real skills. Meaningful goals.

A youth-athletic program where older kids build earned confidence, resilience, friendships, and real skills they can steadily improve and take pride in.

Different Stages. The Same Things Parents Hope To See Grow.

What progress looks like changes with age. The common thread is a child becoming more capable, more comfortable with challenge, and more proud of what they can do.

1

Real Confidence

Confidence comes from participating, learning something new, and experiencing progress they can feel for themselves.

2

Focus & Follow-Through

Watch, listen, remember a direction, accept coaching, and finish what they started at an age-appropriate level.

3

Resilience

Make a mistake, reset, try again, and learn that frustration does not have to be the end of the attempt.

4

Belonging

Train with kids at a similar stage, work with partners, encourage teammates, and become part of a positive group.

Tiny Ninjas • Ages 3-4

Wild, Shy, Clingy, Or Slow To Join In? That’s Okay.

Tiny Ninjas is built around how three- and four-year-olds actually learn.

  • Short, active drills instead of expecting them to sit still forever
  • Simple directions, repetition, encouragement, and lots of movement
  • Practice listening, coordination, taking turns, and trying again
  • Room to watch first, warm up slowly, or celebrate a tiny independent win

At this age, joining the group, waiting through one drill, or trying without holding your hand can be enormous progress.

Big Energy. Growing Independence. Confidence That Still Comes And Goes.

Little Ninjas meets younger elementary-age kids right in the middle.

  • Directions broken into manageable pieces and reinforced through movement
  • A positive outlet for energy with clear rules, partners, and structure
  • Practice stopping, listening, waiting, and controlling excited movement
  • Real wins that help children reset, try again, and believe “I can do this”

Little Ninjas is not built for perfect listeners or naturally confident kids. It gives them a fun place to practice those skills.

Real Skills To Build. Progress They Can Be Proud Of.

At this age, confidence grows when kids prove something to themselves.

  • Learn legitimate techniques they can measure, improve, and take pride in
  • Work toward belts, skills, drills, goals, and meaningful milestones
  • Accept coaching, handle frustration, adjust, and follow through
  • Train with peers and become part of a positive group with shared goals

Junior Martial Arts is not a corrective program for “problem kids.” It is a place for ordinary kids to be challenged, supported, and proud of what they are learning to do.

Background Checked

Instructors are carefully selected and background checked before working with students.

Padded Training Floors

Professional padded flooring is designed specifically for martial arts training.

Age-Matched Expectations

New students learn progressively and are never expected to jump into hard contact.

How Confidence Actually Gets Built

The challenge changes as children grow, but the process stays remarkably consistent. They try, receive coaching, practice, improve, and discover that they can do more than they thought.

1

Try

Take the first step and participate at their own starting point.

2

Listen

Watch the instructor and learn what to do next.

3

Practice

Repeat the skill, make mistakes, and keep working.

4

Improve

Notice what changed and experience real progress.

5

Feel Proud

Build confidence rooted in something they genuinely accomplished.

Parent Questions Before You Reserve

Will my child be placed with kids between ages 3 and 12?

No. The Youth Starter Pass is the shared beginner offer, but your child is matched to Tiny Ninjas ages 3-4, Little Ninjas ages 5-7, or Junior Martial Arts ages 8-12. The pace, drills, expectations, and coaching are appropriate for that developmental stage.

What is included in the Youth Starter Pass?

The Youth Starter Pass includes two beginner lessons and a free martial arts uniform. The regular price is $39.95. During our Monthly Special, new students can book it for $2 through month end.

Is this a good fit if my child is shy, nervous, energetic, or brand new?

Yes. Some children watch first. Some jump right in. Some need help channeling their energy, while others are simply ready for a new challenge. The beginner lessons give your child a comfortable way to experience the right age-specific program.

What style of martial arts do you teach?

The Cosens curriculum combines age-appropriate striking, grappling, movement, practical self-defense, confidence, focus, discipline, teamwork, and controlled partner training.

Do parents stay during the beginner lessons?

Yes. A parent or guardian stays and watches both beginner lessons so you can see the program, the coaching, and how your child responds.

Does my child need any previous experience?

No. The Starter Pass is specifically designed for brand-new students. We expect beginners to be beginners.

Will my child have to spar?

No hard sparring is required for a new beginner. Skills, contact, and partner work are introduced progressively with supervision, control, and age-appropriate expectations.

What happens after the two beginner lessons?

If your child enjoys the experience, we can explain how their age-specific regular program works. There is no obligation to enroll.
