General Questions
General What happens after I complete my purchase? ›
You will receive an email confirmation right away. Early next week, a coach will contact you to:
  • Choose your start date
  • Go over schedules and details
  • Complete any remaining enrollment steps
  • Size you or your child for required safety equipment if needed
General Do these Black Friday memberships replace my current membership? ›
No. Black Friday memberships are add on programs only.

If you already have a financed membership, you must complete all remaining payments on that agreement. Once that program is fulfilled, your discounted Black Friday membership begins.
General Are Black Friday memberships refundable? ›
All Black Friday memberships are nonrefundable.
General Can I switch to another location later? ›
Yes, if you move. Your membership can be transferred to another Cosens Martial Arts location (except Bad Axe) when you relocate.

We simply require proof of your new address before making the change.
General Can I buy a membership for a family member? ›
Yes. Many families purchase more than one membership. Each student needs their own program, and you can grab separate memberships for kids, teens, and adults.
General How many discounted spots are available? ›
Each location has a very limited number of Black Friday memberships available. Once the listed spots are sold, the discounts do not reopen again this year.
Adult Programs
Adult When does my new adult program start? ›
Your first class date is chosen with your coach. After you purchase, a coach will reach out early next week to:
  • Schedule your start date
  • Review class times and options
  • Answer any questions before your first visit
If you are a current member, your Black Friday membership itself will be added after your current financed agreement is fulfilled, but your coach will still plan everything with you next week.

The Adult Basic Program (ages 13 and up) is where most adults begin. You will train:

  • Strength, conditioning, and mobility
Classes focus on fitness, skill development, and confidence in a supportive, structured environment.
Adult What is the Adult Black Belt Training Program? ›
The Adult Black Belt Program is our advanced adult track for students who want the full Black Belt path. It includes everything from the Basic Program plus:
  • Deeper technical curriculum
  • Extended training time each class
  • A focused path toward earning a Black Belt
Adult Black Belt students wear the black uniform instead of the standard gray.
Adult Do I need to be in shape to start? ›
No. Most adults who start have not trained in a long time or are brand new. Classes are designed so you can train at your own pace while steadily improving your fitness, skills, and confidence.
Adult Do I need safety equipment for adult programs? ›
Some adult programs require safety equipment. If you do not already have what is needed, you will be able to purchase it during your enrollment appointment next week.

Your equipment package will receive the same discount percentage as your Black Friday membership.

Youth programs are for ages 3 through 12. Teens 13 and up are placed in our adult classes.

Youth What is the Kids Basic Training Program? ›
Kids Basic is where most children start. Students work on:
  • Foundational martial arts skills
  • Confidence, focus, and discipline
  • Respect, self control, and teamwork
The program includes two classes per week plus our full character development curriculum.
Youth What is the Kids Black Belt Training Program? ›
The Kids Black Belt Program is our advanced training track for students working toward earning their Black Belt. It includes:
  • Advanced martial arts curriculum
  • Weapons practice such as nunchucks, Kali sticks, and bo staff
  • Board breaking opportunities
  • Additional class time for higher level training
  • Leadership and character development
Youth Do we need to purchase safety equipment for our child? ›
Some youth programs require official Cosens Martial Arts safety equipment. If your child does not already have what is needed, they will be sized during your enrollment appointment next week.

The safety equipment package will receive the same discount percentage as your Black Friday membership.
Youth My child is shy or has never done martial arts. Will they fit in? ›
Yes. Many kids who start with us are shy, nervous, or brand new to martial arts. Our instructors are experienced with all personality types and work step by step to help each child feel comfortable, confident, and successful.
Youth Can siblings train at the same time? ›
In many cases, yes. If their ages and ranks fit the same class level, we will do our best to place siblings together. Your coach will go over the best options for your family during your enrollment call.
